This Thursday (13th August) we take on our sponsors, Moore Barlow, in a T20 game at Brewery Road. The bar will be open.and we are hoping to run a BBQ if we get a couple of volunteers, so please come down and enjoy some cricket.
The W&HCC End of Season Awards will take place on Saturday 5th September 2020. More details will be available soon.
Cricket returned to Brewery Road last weekend with two interclub games and plenty of people taking advantage of the good weather and the bar being open.
The cricket continues this week with a T20 interclub game tomorrow evening (Thursday 16th) starting at 6.00. The bar will be open from 5.30 so please do come down and watch.
We also have four games this Saturday with the first eleven playing Staines at home with the second team playing the same opposition away. Both the third and fourth eleven make the short trip to Valley End.
This week will see 55 different senior players playing cricket for us including seven new players. A warm welcome to all of them. We have also seen several returnees and we welcome all of them back.

I’m sure many of you would have seen the brilliant news last week that the UK Government has given the green light for recreational cricket in England to return from Saturday.
Saturday – Cricket cricket cricket. In the morning we will have a work party from 10am to 12.30pm to put the finishing touches on preparing the ground and clubhouse for the start of the season. Jobs that need doing include painting, sweeping and clearing the patio and cleaning the sight-screens. This will be followed by a 1's and 2's practice match commencing at 1pm which promises to be competitive. If cricket alone isn't enough to entice you down to the ground the bar will be open from lunchtime onwards so please come along and enjoy the opening day of our season. The weather forecast looks good all weekend.
Sunday – In the morning there will be back to back juniors fixtures followed by a 3's and 4's practice match commencing at 2.30pm. The bar will once again be open from lunchtime onwards.
Thursday 16th July - There will be an in-house T20 at Brewery Road commencing at 6pm.

Whilst it’s exciting to finally see the return of cricket at Brewery Road it’s critical that we all do our best to protect each other and that we all enjoy our time at the club responsibly in accordance with the latest UK government guidelines concerning social distancing. The club will be putting all the possible measures in place to make the club as safe as possible, but we ask all visitors to the ground to adhere to the following before and during their visit.
Following the latest update from the UK Government, the ECB have prepared a plan to support clubs and individuals as they prepare for the return of recreational cricket, including details of adjustments which should be made to respect hygiene and social distancing requirements.
